Georgella Muirhead and Bob Berg, the founding partners of Detroit-based PR firm Berg Muirhead and Associates, recently presented the second session of their communications seminar at the Institute for Local Government (IFLG). The seminar was part of a professional-development program offered by the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Held June 7 at the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus, "Media and Community Relations II" drew state and local leaders. Berg, who is currently serving as a consultant to Detroit Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick, has been a senior public affairs advisor to two of the longest-serving chief executives of Michigan. Muirhead has worked as a senior public relations administrator for 24 years in firms located in East Lansing, Southfield, Detroit, and Ann Arbor.
All American Apparel Company hires Eisen Management Group
The Texas-based All American Apparel Company has signed on with Cincinnati-based public relations firm Eisen Management Group (EMG), which will manage its PR campaigns, advertising, and national branding. The apparel company has introduced a line of 100% American-made garments under the name American Joe. The company wishes to continue to spread the message that it's better to buy American. Its decision to hire the award-winning firm EMG was based on cultural, personal, and professional factors. Dena Anderson and Nan Moon, general partners and founders of American Joe, have confidence in the EMG team. Founded in 2001, the PR firm has executed several public relations, branding, marketing, advertising, and social media programs for its customers.
MP&F and Atkinson merge to form strategic partnership
Nashville-based public relations firms McNeely, Pigott & Fox Public Relations and Atkinson Public Relations have merged, forming a strategic partnership. MP&F is the largest PR firm in the state. Its full-service graphics and web-design divisions will be accessible by Atkinson as a result of the merger. Atkinson is shifting its base from Nashville's Loews Vanderbilt office building to MP&F's location in the city's Renaissance Tower office building, per the agreement. Before joining MP&F in 1990, David Fox, senior partner with MP&F, was vice president of Atkinson. MP&F and Atkinson have recently worked together on a number of client assignments.
Lopez Negrete Communications to manage brand-awareness campaign for Nielsen
Lopez Negrete Communications will now manage Nielsen's brand-awareness campaign. Nielsen provides advertising information services and television-audience measurements to organizations across the world. The leading global information and media company wants to reach out aggressively to "the multicultural community." Monica Gil, vice president of communications and public affairs at Nielsen stated, "Lopez Negrete has a strong strategic presence in the Hispanic sector and is an obvious choice to support us in our efforts to inform and engage Hispanic families." The Nielsen account will be managed by a team that includes Trey Velasco, who will serve as promotions director; Michael Vogel and Pio del Castillo, who will serve as account supervisors; Remo Mazzini, who will serve as promotions field manager; Randolph Gonzales, who will serve as the account's executive; and Martha Villagomez, who will serve as the account's coordinator.
