Carolyn Leber Public Relations (CLPR), a lifestyle PR firm, has been hired to handle all publicity and PR-related activities for Zensation Beaute. Zensation, a Switzerland-based company, is launching a range of deluxe skincare products in the U.S. this fall. CLPR offers PR services to companies in the baby products, interior design, hospitality, fashion, beauty, retail, furniture design, food, accessories, art, and architecture industries. CLPR will be using events, promotions, and several other approaches to represent the "remarkable collection of skincare products" from Zensation.
New PR agency hired by Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District
The Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District has enlisted Palm Desert, CA-based Kiner Communications as its PR agency. The move comes in response to protests by some residents of the district following an investigation into its expenditures of taxpayer money. The district has spent more than $170,000 on promotional and educational efforts this financial year. Vice President of Kiner Erin Gilhuly, who refused to divulge further details, confirmed that the PR firm has been "retained by the district."
Dennis Da Costa named vice president of MWW Group
MWW Group, one of the country's leading PR firms, has appointed Dennis Da Costa vice president of its East Rutherford, NJ, office. Da Costa will be managing the firm's global health policy practice and serve as a member of the firm's corporate social responsibility and strategic philanthropy practices. In his new position, Da Costa will be directing the PR agency's activities related to the Sabin Vaccine Institute and Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases. Da Costa holds a degree in communications and won the McGinley Award for his on-air hosting with WFUV-FM as well as his efficiency as a program director. He previously served the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI) as director of communications and advocacy.
FWV wins seven Sir Walter Raleigh Awards
French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the biggest emerging media, public affairs, and PR firms in the Southeast, won seven awards at the annual Sir Walter Raleigh Awards event. Conducted by the Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS), the event took place at the RBC Center Champions Club during the last week of June. Beginning with a "Best in Division/Public Relations Writing—News Release" award, FWV won six other honors. The PR firm received a gold award for its services rendered to the Justin Boot Company and its AQHA Lifestyle Collection. A gold award was also given to the firm for its work for Lee Jeans, and the firm received a silver award for its work for bioMerieux. The remaining three awards acknowledged work completed for Wrangler Jeans, the 2007 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament, and North Carolina State University.
