Vonage names Karen Cleeve VP of public relations and communications
Vonage Holdings Corporation has named Karen Cleeve its vice president of public relations and communications. In her new position, Cleeve will manage the company's communications programs for consumers and Vonage employees. Prior to joining Vonage, she served Burson-Marsteller as director. Earlier, she also worked for Intuit, Inc., and Peppercom. Cleeve has had 15 years of experience working for corporate-product and industry analyst-relations programs. She has developed and driven communications strategies to strengthen brands and introduce companies to new markets through traditional and new media. Vonage, a major provider of digital telephone services, is headquartered in Holmdel, NJ.
JohnstonWells acquires Accent
Denver-based JohnstonWells Public Relations has purchased Accent Public Relations. Gina Seamans, a former JohnstonWells employee, founded Accent PR in 1998. Founder-owner Seamans will rejoin the firm as a senior counselor and will continue to serve her Accent PR clients, which include Sterling-Rice Group, Laser Technology, Enstrom Candies, Bernina of America, and SmartCare Family Medical Clinics, among others. Seamans' name has appeared on the Denver Business Journal's "40 Under 40" list of young local business leaders. Bringing additional experience to the firm that provided her with expertise in client service and strategic counseling, Seamans said she felt "proud to boomerang back to JohnstonWells."
