Burberry names Alex Malgouyres director of public relations
Burberry has appointed Alex Malgouyres as its director of public relations in the United States. Malgouyres will be responsible for all Burberry PR initiatives in the U.S. He will report to Sarah Manley, senior vice president of global PR and communications for Burberry, which is based in London, and Eugenia Ulasewicz, president of Burberry USA. Prior to joining Burberry’s American branch, Malgouyres headed Burberry’s Paris PR department, where he managed various markets, including France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, and Switzerland. Prior to joining Burberry, he worked in the Paris offices of KCD, a leading agency in fashion public relations, where he oversaw press relations for Alexander McQueen in France and Italy as well as Kim Jones, Lacoste, and Helmut Lang fragrances. Malgouyres was also influential in organizing the Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, and Helmut Lang shows in Milan and Paris.
Vocus launches public relations management software
A well-known provider of on-demand software for public relations management, Vocus, Inc., has launched Vocus Summer ’07. “Vocus provides a platform that enables public relations professionals to monitor their news and focus their efforts on achieving results,” said Edward J. Adams, Ph.D. and analyst for issues and systems public affairs at DuPont. The move was a response to the mushrooming Internet-driven news cycle and the proliferation of blogs, which have made it necessary for organizations of all sizes to keep abreast of breaking news in real time. Summer ’07 is available as an independent news management product or as part of Vocus’s integrated suite, which covers media relations and news distribution. Existing Vocus customers have already been provided with the new software via upgrades.

Codella Marketing, LLC, has been retained by PlusFour, Inc., as its agency of record. Codella Marketing will offer strategic communications services, including public relations, marketing, advertising, and web services, to PlusFour. Other Codella Marketing clients include Noteware Development, Brickwater Condominiums, the Les Olson Company, Pan Western Corporation, and Verde Communications. Codella Marketing is also associated with the College of Southern Nevada as public relations counsel through an agreement with WG Communications Group. PlusFour specializes in debt collection and judgment recovery. The company’s core business is collecting receivables for healthcare providers, property managers, and small businesses.
