Management consultancy requires analysis and observation. A management consultant or the candidate applying for this position must possess certain skill sets. He or she must be self motivated, disciplined and creative. Along with these, he or she must have analytical and time management skills the skill to bond with different people of various backgrounds and personalities. The candidate must have good judgment and work as a team with other members of the company. Having good communication skills, written and oral is mandatory for this position.

Educational Requirements

To get a job as a management consultant, candidates must have Master's degree in business administration or similar field. In addition to certification he or she must have at least one year of experience. There are government agencies that employ candidates with a Bachelor's degree. If you would like to be employed in the private sector, then several years of professional experience is a must. This is because experience will enable the candidate to complete more tasks and fulfill more responsibilities. Experience will also pave the way to becoming a partner in the company. There are many individuals who are self employed management consultants. Approximately 29% of management consultants work in their own practices.

The annual average salary of most management consultants is approximately $76,000.The salary of a management consultant employed in the public sector is approximately $50,000. The salary also depends on the industry that the candidate is employed and also on his or her experience, qualification and set skills.

The field of management consulting is very attractive. In spite of strong competition, the field will grow more by the year 2016. Because of upcoming industries and companies in the public and private sector, there are many job opportunities in management consulting.
