PR Editor Jobs description

PR editors review, edit, fact-check, and rewrite the work of company’s website content or corporate stuff. They usually check for accuracy, content, grammar, and style. The focus of editing the content is usually to promote the company products or services rather than working on mass appeal. The PR editor profile is different from the newspaper editors who assign topics to reporters and oversee the publication's production. Most PR editors use personal computers or word processors. Many use desktop or electronic publishing systems, scanners and other communications equipment. PR editors must be able to express ideas clearly and logically. They should be quite adept in creating ads or promotional material and editing them using their creativity, curiosity, a broad range of knowledge, self-motivation, and perseverance. PR editors need to demonstrate good judgment and a strong sense of ethics in deciding what to publish.

The basic requirements for the being a PR editor include a college degree in arts, media, communications, or journalism is required. Most employers prefer to hire people with broad experience in corporate advertising or PR writing. Familiarity with electronic publishing, graphics, and video production equipment is increasingly necessary.
