The Senior Director, Communications & Earned Media, TH Americas drives all brand, corporate and associate communications strategies for Tommy Hilfiger across the Americas. This leader works closely with their marketing counterparts to align and support all global and regional brand marketing campaigns/activations, commercial priorities, and brand reputation pillars.

As a key external brand representative, this leader works in tight cross-functional collaboration with Americas regional teams, and the Global Marketing & Communications teams in Amsterdam to drive regional executions of global strategies.

Responsibilities:

Earned Media Communications

  • Set KPI targets and tracking for all Earned Media teams that align to global brand ambitions and deliver on regional commercial priorities
  • Lead the Brand Communications strategies across all product categories and commercial channels for The Americas
  • Set the Earned Media approach for all seasonal campaigns, collaborations, activations, events product launches, and corporate messages, etc.
  • Ensure high quality delivery of all Earned Media Communications collateral materials including press releases, press kits and A/V assets
  • Create PR strategies and publicity campaigns for all celebrity brand ambassadors; pitch and secure interviews, brand stories with regional media outlets

Corporate & Associate Communications

  • Drives brand reputational pillars through Sustainability and DE&I vision; fashion technology
  • Oversee corporate, crisis and associate communications; executive positioning; and trade press outreach to drive visibility of company news in The Americas
  • Key regional point of contact for crisis management, corporate communications, media relations and media training
  • Manage day to day relationships with industry trade organizations and partners
  • Provide senior communications leadership and support to all TH Americas teams on communications related matters
  • Work with executive team to lead cross-functional initiatives related to sustainability, philanthropy, and other corporate programs

  • Independent ownership of the full Earned Media Communications budget for the Americas
  • End-responsible to finance on all invoicing, phasing and budget management policies
  • End-responsible for case building for incremental asks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; degree in Marketing and/or Communications, a plus
  • 10-12+ years of demonstrated corporate communications experience, a must; industry experience, a plus
  • Strengths in analyzing, synthesizing and summarizing high volumes of information, creating executive summaries and relaying resulting decisions and/or changes across multiple platforms
  • Strong networking capabilities to develop working relationships across the organizations that are needed to complete key tasks and projects
  • Collaborative; able to liaise closely across different levels of the organization
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Pro-active and hands-on
  • Open minded and resourceful
  • Strong aesthetic eye and taste level; strict attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Responsive and service minded
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote
  • Must be able to confidently make in the moment calls when dealing with high-exposure public situations (ie interviews, public appearances) with our executives and brand ambassadors
  • Set the annual and seasonal strategy and decision making for NA Earned Media Communications within guidelines of Global Marketing and Communications direction from Amsterdam office
  • Executive level resourcefulness and decision making
  • Extremely skilled cross-cultural communicator
  • Able to drive solutions for all ranges of issues big and small, and direct teams in executing quick pivots where needed
  • Ability to maintain visibility and leadership over a wide portfolio of initiatives and programs across the team
  • Agile leader able to stretch style to accommodate a wide range of personalities and work styles/needs
  • This scope of this position includes sitting long-term strategies; giving direction to team and peers; and servicing the needs of all internal/external business ‘clients’: Divisions, Countries, Departments, Licensing Partners and Senior Management. It is the point of liaison between client needs, the brand and the final consumer
  • Able to operate fully independently with our most senior and sensitive stakeholders
  • The scope of this role often deals with fast-paced crisis and sensitive information. The ability to maintain a calm composure and clear thought process under pressure and short timelines is critical
  • Ability to travel (domestically and internally), required
