Job Details:
This position represents Prepared Foods as a member of the Enterprise Communications teams and provides internal and external communications leadership to help boost awareness and perception of the Prepared Foods business unit as an industry leader. The role involves leading the communications strategy for the Prepared Foods business collaborating with others, including the company’s outside PR agency partners, and building and implementing comprehensive communications strategies tied to key business priorities that deliver targeted, measurable outcomes. Working with Prepared Foods’ BU teams and local plant locations to provide communications support and proactively identify and tell positive stories (i.e. stories that highlight team members, producers, CSR efforts) both internally and externally. In this role, it is critical to foster strong relationships with the Prepared Foods Group President and members of the business unit leadership team, as well as directly liaising with Prepared Foods plant operations leadership, human resources, government relations, legal, sustainability, internal communications, digital engagement and investor relations.
The position requires someone with strong organizational and interpersonal skills; the ability to quickly gather information, develop messaging, and share communications to key internal and external audiences; and the ability to help manage response communication during crisis or critical incident situations. Experience in photography, video and social media are a plus.
Education: Requires BA in communications, public relations, journalism or related fieldExperience: At least 7 years of communications, media or public relations experienceComputer Skills: Requires basic computer skills. For example, generating simple letters, spreadsheets; requires knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.Special Skills: Ability to develop news releases, speeches, internal announcements, letters and other forms of written communication; organizational skills and the ability to collaborate are also important; manage numerous projects with tight deadlines; background in photography, video and social media communications is a plus.Supervisory: This role does not have supervisory responsibilities .Location: The role is based at the Chicago Corporate Offices
