Beveridge & Diamond seeks a Marketing Communications, PR, & Digital Content Coordinator to create, manage, and distribute thought leadership and promotional content to support and enhance its strong market profile. This position may be located in any city in which the firm has an office, with a preference for Washington, DC.
The Marketing Communications, PR, & Digital Content Coordinator has high visibility throughout the firm in four core areas of responsibility: 1) working directly and independently with lawyers on thought leadership content creation, design, production, and distribution (e.g., news alerts, articles, presentations, podcasts, website and social media content); 2) serving as the point person for public relations and media outreach efforts; 3) working with lawyers to compile and manage the firm’s submissions to third-party rankings and directories and awards nominations; and 4) advising on and producing firm collateral material (e.g., 1-pagers, slide decks). To succeed in the role, the Coordinator must consistently and independently execute their day-to-day responsibilities with precision under tight deadlines, while identifying new opportunities for the firm to enhance its market profile and measuring and enhancing engagement with the firm and its lawyers through content and communications. At a higher level, the Coordinator is responsible for connecting firm initiatives and growth opportunities across practices through a cohesive communications strategy.
Responsibilities
Produce and update on a regular basis all printed and digital collateral/promotional materials, including brochures, practice descriptions, and firm overview slides
Constantly look for ways to update and improve the firm’s website, including scheduling and managing regular updates to lawyer biographies and practice/industry team content
Edit, proofread, post, and distribute thought leadership content, including single-topic alerts, multi-topic newsletters, and client-facing checklists and guides
Write and distribute firm news, including media mentions, announcements, and press releases, and maintain and update media lists
Manage and grow the firm’s presence on social media through regular updates, effective campaigns, best practices, and lawyer engagement
Support the firm’s burgeoning podcasting initiative
Work with lawyers to prepare submissions to legal and industry directories, rankings, and awards nominations, including but not limited to

Maximize the firm’s content syndicator subscriptions, including JDSupra, Lexology, and The National Law Review
Develop and use metrics reports to guide investment of firm resources on content creation and measure ROI
Develop and manage all branded (logoed) materials, including proposal and PowerPoint templates, graphics/infographics, stationery, and holiday cards
Create ads and make recommendations on paid and unpaid advertising opportunities
Monitor legal industry communications trends and adopt best practices
Lead marketing orientation for new hires
Coach lawyers and staff on communications best practices (including social media, written content, and presentations)

Required
3-5 years of communications or public relations experience, preferably in a law or professional services firm
Experience creating, editing, posting (to website), managing, and distributing articles, newsletters, blogs, podcasts, and video content
Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills (writing exercise required), ability to synthesize information into readable, impactful, effective promotional content
Excellent attention to detail, meticulous and accurate proofreading skills
Experience leading directory/ranking/award submissions (preferably related to the legal industry, such as

Experience with metrics reporting (e.g., email marketing and web analytics)
Fluency with LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook
Expert in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Intermediate graphic design capabilities, proficiency with Adobe InDesign preferred
Demonstrated project management skills
Customer service orientation, can-do attitude

College degree or equivalent, or demonstrated career experience
Preferred
Proficiency with InterAction, Vuture (or other email marketing platform), and WordPress CMS
Experience with Clearview Social and Hootsuite
Understanding of/exposure to environmental law and litigation
