The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, excel at creating engaging content and enjoy collaborating with highly motivated team members. The Communications Lead develops, coordinates and scales multi-media communication strategies to inform Humana associates and drive employee engagement and inclusivity. The Communications Lead works to create and implement communications for various internal audiences across multiple platforms and ensure ongoing and open dialogue through employee feedback loops to build trust and transparency.
The Communications Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the Internal Communications team in the strategic development and execution of employee communications and engagement. This role is to create and implement communications for various internal audiences across multiple platforms and ensure ongoing and open dialogue through employee feedback loops to build trust and transparency.
In this role, you'll get to:
Play a lead role in developing and implementing an integrated employee communications strategy that will inspire, deliver clarity on, and connect ECOM to our company strategy, objectives, plan, and progress.
Build and manage our employee communications editorial calendar, ensuring key messages get to our employees and that our mission and values are woven into all of our employee communications
Create compelling content for our employee communications and engagement programs, including executive communications, town halls, internal presentations, blogs and intranet content, emails and other employee communications
Co-create and ghostwrite executive and all company communications/speaking notes
Draft, edit, and consult on other key employee-facing communications across Staff posts, internal docs, slide decks, videos, and other mediums
Work collaboratively across multiple teams
Exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, determining the best course of action
Work well with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or any field
8 years or more in internal communications, employee communications, marketing, public relations or journalism experience.
Experience working in or closely with an executive leadership team
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a track record of building inspiring narratives, developing speaking points, and crafting written pieces for executives
Experience turning complicated concepts into persuasive prose and driving clear business messages
Experience with change management and information dissemination across multiple employee groups
Ability to co-create with internal creative team and external partners to develop visually appealing content that tells a story
Able to do great things fast and match it with high emotional intelligence (be able to read the room), curiosity (bring your expertise to the table while having an open mind)
A deep understanding and clear point of view of how communications, leadership and culture intersect
Proven experience managing multiple projects and audience segments
Ability to manage multiple activities and work well under deadline pressure
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree
Background in health care communications
