Senior Manager – Executive Communications—Sustainability
Summary: This role will set the communications strategy for the sustainability portfolio. The role will serve as the executive communications support for the CSO. In this capacity, the role will set the strategy for all engagement around speaking engagements, media strategy and internal communications support for the CSO and the sustainability department.
Responsibilities:
This role will set the communications strategy for the sustainability portfolio. The role will serve as the executive communications support for the CSO. In this capacity, the role will set the strategy for all engagement around speaking engagements, media strategy and internal communications support for the CSO and the sustainability department. The individual needs to have an advanced understanding of the sustainability world as a whole, but specifically needs to understand and navigate ESG, and be a technical expert on sustainability matters surrounding environmental, animal welfare and people impacts. Additionally, this individual will manage a team member who is responsible for the daily execution of the sustainability communications strategy. This Senior Manager role reports to the Director of Enterprise Communications.
The individual must be able to draft press releases, build proactive communications campaigns, navigate through the different Business Units across the company while promoting the agenda of the sustainability portfolio, and work in crisis situations, reacting to both the needs of the executive leadership while reacting to the needs of external media.
Requirements:
Education/Certifications: Bachelor or greater in PR, journalism, communications or other related field and 7 years experience or 9 years’ experience
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and have a basic understanding of social media.
Communication Skills: Proficient in internal communications, proficient in media relations and proficient in crisis communications.
