We are looking for an online editorial all-star who has a passion for all things nutrition, health and fitness. The right candidate will have excellent writing, editing and communication skills, as well as an eye for aesthetics and image sourcing.
At LIVESTRONG.COM we pride ourselves on publishing timely health and fitness content emphasizing actionable and practical tips that will help a wide audience of readers to improve their overall health, happiness and well-being.
Responsibilities:
• Work with a driven and highly-motivated team to support daily fast-paced content production.
• Write all copy, headlines, deks and source images for weekly editorial newsletters.
• Responsible for having fingers on the pulse of all daily health, nutrition, sports, and fitness news.
• Understand how to write editorial and social media headlines that click and engage well with readers.
• Thoroughly review, assess, fact-check and edit articles to ensure content meets quality standards and adheres to AP Style Guide.
• Source and size images.
• Ensure overall content quality is maintained via regular quality audits and collaboration with team members and contributors.
• Enter all recipes into the MyPlate database whenever feature content includes recipes.
• Provide weekly and monthly content reports.
• Act as part of the editorial team to define editorial direction, curate homepage content, write voice documents and guidelines, establish taxonomies, source and manage qualified writers and editors, oversee content production and perform other duties to support successful creation of high-quality content.
• Perform other editorial tasks and projects as necessary when required to support business objectives.
Requirements:
• Five years of experience in an editorial environment, with strong writing, editing and communication skills.
• A passion for nutrition, health and fitness content.
• Excellent content editing and copyediting skills.
• Familiarity with AP style and/or other publishing style guides.
• Basic Photoshop skills.
• Experience working with freelance writers, making assignments and providing feedback.

• Ability to manage and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
• Strong self-motivation and drive to succeed.
• Efficiency, accuracy, dependability and strong attention to detail.

• Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with various social media and analytics platforms, and knowledge of HTML.
• Proven experience working with a content management system.

• Bachelor’s degree required. Journalism, English, communications or related field preferred.
• Understanding of online publishing and the competitive landscape.
• Journalistic curiosity and energy to discover new topics; creative problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of SEO fundamentals.
