The Role:
The Compare the Market (CTM) Internal Communications Manager
role is responsible for providing internal communication expertise, advice, and support to the business. The focus of the role is to integrate CTM’s communication strategy and roadmap, which includes developing high-quality communications pieces that deliver compelling, influential, and targeted messages in a timely and effective manner.
The role is part of the CTM Marketing team and will work closely with key members of the CTM team, to integrate the strategy into the culture and business operating rhythm. Key stakeholders include the Chief Governance and Support Officer and the Head of People & Culture.
Core activities for this role:
Under the direction of the GM Media & Communications, deliver on the strategic direction of Compare the Market’s internal communication efforts.
Successfully deliver CTM’s communication strategy by leading and executing communication campaigns, communication rhythms and action plans, using best practice communication principles and frameworks.
Create targeted communication tactics including campaign action plans, speaking notes, presentations, leader briefing packs and reports - for specific audience preferences, using the right channels, with the right message at the right time.
Coordinate and maintain consistent and relevant content on all internal communication channels across Compare the Market, including the intranet and staff newsletters.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders through timely, strategic, and valued advice to ensure a strong internal brand is established and employee engagement is strengthened.
Assist in developing leaders at all levels in communication competence through assisting in the design and provision of training and coaching; tools; education and support.
Proactively working with divisions and teams to enhance their stakeholder management and corporate communication outcomes, and proactively identifying opportunities and mitigating issues.
Actively leading reporting and evaluation of communication activities within the team.
Knowledge and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or marketing with a minimum of five years’ experience.
Experience in establishing a communication framework including establishing a stakeholder matrix and channels matrix.
High level of oral and written communication skills with a particular focus on writing and/or editing complex business information for diverse audiences.
Extensive knowledge of contemporary frameworks and methodologies to develop effective internal communication strategies that facilitate a strong internal brand, engagement and advocacy.
High level of influencing, interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and negotiation skills that build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships.
Experience working in a high impact and dynamic communications team on both strategic and operational internal and external communications.
Experience working with stakeholders at all levels – employees, leaders, and senior executive team.
