About Us
The Assembly Majority Office oversees communications and policy for the 46 Democratic members of the New Jersey General Assembly’s Majority Office under the direction of the Assembly speaker.
General Description
The Assembly Majority Office is seeking a Social Media Manager to develop and implement a significantly expanded social media program across a range of platforms. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Communications, the chosen candidate will be responsible for assisting in the creation of a plan to rapidly increase communications opportunities, and then managing day to day implementation of the strategic plan across existing and emerging channels.
As a key member of a communications staff for a caucus that is leading on issues like affordability for New Jersey families, gun violence prevention, economic development and pandemic recovery efforts, the chosen candidate will seek to amplify all public messaging as well as legislative achievements and goals. This role will focus on growing our audience, as well as establishing best practices to further our message across New Jersey.
Note: The position is a partisan position on the staff of the Assembly Democratic Majority
Daily Responsibilities
Creating relevant, compelling content for all social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Developing short and long-term campaigns to raise awareness of the Assembly Democrats and their legislative achievements.
Working with a dedicated communications team, policy analysts, elected officials and other staff to distribute dynamic content (photos, videos and graphics) and effectively communicate the agenda of the caucus to constituents.
Maintaining annual and monthly calendars of postings tied to various events.
Developing and implementing a dedicated social media strategy focused on platform growth.
Establishing and maintaining dedicated style guides and guides on best practices.
Developing and tracking KPIs using insights, metrics, data and other research to measure performance and provide regular reports.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Demonstrated ability to create compelling content that increases interaction opportunities and audience share among targeted communities.
